Delegates from over 200 organizations of IAPO [International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations] came to the annual meeting held in London to discuss the presentation of costs incurred, audit made, plans for the organization of the 2010 congress in Istanbul, and participation in voting for a new member of IAPO Board of Directors.
In the vote held on 15th May 2009 Jolanta Bilińska Head of the Safety for Patients foundation joined IAPO Board of Directors. Everyone congratulated her in the new appointment.
In
the afternoon a training workshop was run based on the work with normal
patients. It mostly covered topics such as information for patients,
doctor-patient conversation, diagnose explanation, prognoses and therapy
so that the patient can understand the treatment. It was also
determined when the patient’s commitment is of essential significance
for the treatment process.
